Baby/Tiny jig Saturday
Baby Jig is our first level of preschool Irish dance classes. This class is parent assisted and designed for children aged 2-3 years old.

Tiny Jig is the second level in Preschool dance classes that we offer. In this class we encourage parents to sit and watch their children. The class content is designed for children 3-4 years old.

Mini Jig Saturday
Mini Jig is our third level of Preschool dance classes. We encourage students to be independent in this class and ask that parents wait in the foyer to drop off and retrieve their children.

This class is designed to align with the development of children who are of kindergarten age (4-5 years old)

2024 Term 4: Level 4 & Championship

Junior Championship Tuesday
The Championship classes are the pinnacle of classes that our students aim to reach. Students in the championship program are required to attend a minimum of two classes per week and are encouraged to attend private lessons. The students learn and master very advanced technique and dances and are invited to perform these at a state, national and international level. These students continue to participate in their dance exams, local competitions, and public performances.

On the Last Friday of every month, classes are not able to run. These classes are rescheduled to the Thursday night before hand, times remain the same.

A compulsory aspect of championship dancing is attending the January Workshop. Non-Attendance of this workshop will result in students withdrawing from championship lessons.

Senior Championship Tuesday
Senior championship is our highest level that a dancer can reach. This class is invite only.

The last Friday of every month this class is unable to run, classes are rescheduled to the Thursday night before (Class times remain the same).

A compulsory aspect of this level of dancing is attending the January workshop. Non-Attendance of this workshop will result in the student withdrawing from Championship dancing.

Level 4: Advanced class
Level 4 Students have developed their Irish dancing skills at Level 3 in both components to a high standard. This level is an opportunity for students to continue their love of Irish Dance at an elevated standard without the expectation and commitment of Championship dancing. Students continue to have the opportunity to participate in dance exams, competitions, teams and at public performances around Adelaide.

Senior teams dancing is an invite only class. In this class our dancers focus on learning traditional and modern performance skills.

A compulsory aspect of this class is attending the July School holiday workshop. Students who are unable to attend this workshop are unable to compete in teams for that year but are more than welcome to attend and train with the teams.

Junior teams
Junior teams is a fantastic addition to a dancing journey. All Newry dancers from level 2 and above are welcome to join this class as an ADDITION to their other classes. In this class our dancers focus on learning traditional and modern performance skills.

Level 1: Our program aims to immerse students in Irish Dance at a beginner level. There is a focus on discipline, rhythm and basic Irish dance technique that they learn through dance games, drills, and choreographed dances. These students have the opportunity to be able to participate in exams, competitions and the end of year concert.

Monday Level 2-3 soft shoe
This class is a combined class with level 2 and 3 students learning soft shoe.

Level 2 students must have satisfied the minimum requirements at a beginner level of Irish dancing. It is highly recommended that students begin the hard shoe component at this level.
Here, students have the opportunity to apply their dance skills in a range of performance capacities including dance exams, competitions, the end of year concert and, upon invitation, within our competitive teams.

Level 3 students must have satisfied the minimum requirements at a Level 2 standard of Irish dancing. Invitation to level 3 dancing requires both program components of soft shoe and hard shoe to be undertaken. Level 3 dancers continue to apply their skills in a range of performance aspects at dance exams, competitions, teams and upon invitation, at public performances around Adelaide. Students can decide to move on to Level 4 Advanced Rec. or Championship dancing.

Adult Class
Our adult classes are for those of a more advanced age who wish to learn how to Irish dance, or for past students who want to return to their love of Irish dancing at a less intense level. In our adults classes we learn basic through to advanced technique, and both traditional and modern solo dances and team dances. It has a goal of socialising, fun and fitness at is core and is a great addition to your fitness routine!
