Creative Movement (Pre-Ballet 1 with Tap)
Suggested for students aged 3 to 6, Creative Movement’s main objective is to instill a genuine love for dance and movement. Creative Movement classes will comprise of exercises that cultivate imagination, foster basic word-to-action instruction following, and embody joy. Students will spend half to three quarters of the class in ballet slippers and the remainder of the time in tap shoes to learn basic rhythms.
It is recommended that Creative Movement students take this one-hour class once a week.

Ballet 3
Level 3 Ballet is an intermediate ballet class designed for dancers aged 10 to 12 years old with previous ballet training or dancers aged 13 and above with little to no ballet experience. This class builds upon the fundamental skills learned in earlier levels and introduces more complex ballet techniques and choreography. It aims to further develop the dancers' strength, flexibility, musicality, and artistry while instilling a deeper appreciation and understanding of classical ballet. It is recommended dancers take this two-hour class 3 times a week.

Pre-Pointe 4 and Advanced Level 5 Ballet with Pointe Work is tailored for passionate dancers aged 14 and above, with a minimum of 6-8 years of previous ballet training or for adults aged 18 and above who may not have formal training but possess a strong dedication to mastering the art of ballet. Students in this level will focus on refining their established ballet technique while challenging dancers with advanced combinations, jumps and turns.
Level 5 students are required to take this two-hour ballet class 3-4 times a week.

Jazz/Hiphop level 1/2 is recommended for ages 6-10 with no previous jazz training required. In this beginner class, students will learn jazz basics while establishing a strong, technical foundation, encouraging correct posture, muscle engagement and musicality.

Jazz/Hiphop 3-5
Jazz/Hiphop 3-5 is recommended for dancer age 11 and up with previous dance training or 15 and up with no previous dance training. In this intermediate/advanced level, dancers will focus on refining their previously established jazz/hiphop technique using strength, conditioning and challenging combinations. Dancers at this level will refine new skills every week including leaps, turns and rhythmic steps.

Dancers are strongly recommended to take this one-hour class 1-2 times a week alongside 1-2 ballet classes a week in the appropriate level to establish a strong technical background.

Our advanced level tap class at Alamo City Arts Academy is designed for experienced tappers ages 12 and up. Advanced tap offers a dynamic and challenging environment where students can further refine their technique, expand their repertoire, and push the boundaries of their tap abilities.

Tap 3-4
Intermediate tap is designed for dancers ages 10+ looking to advance their tap technique. Dancers will focus on complicated rhythms and sequences in order to advance their technique in preparation for advanced tap choreography. Dancers will learn to advance their basic tap skills to the next level and incorporate basic technical steps into rhythmic sequences.
***Requires 2-3 years of training in the previous level

Flamenco
This Intermediate/Advanced Flamenco class is recommended for ages 11 and up with previous dance training or ages 15 and up with no previous training. Dancers in this level will focus on refining their established Flamenco technique including footwork, castanet/fan work and more. Dancers will be challenged every week with new combinations of rhythms incorporating munecas, castanets or fans while learning the cultural history of traditional flamenco dancing.

Our Musical Theater 1/2 is recommended for ages 6-12 with no previous training required. Students will learn basic Theater elements including singing, dancing, acting and more. Students will participate in performance opportunities such as parent showcases, parades and festivals.

Folklorico 3-5 is recommended for ages 12 and up with previous Folklorico experience, and ages 15 and up with no previous Folklorico experience. In this Intermediate/Advanced level, dancers will focus on maintaining and refining their previously established Folklorico technique through challenging new choreography every week.
It is strongly recommended that Folklorico 3-5 students take this one-hour class once a week alongside 2-3 ballet classes, in the appropriate level, a week.

Ballet 1 is suggested for students ages 6-8 for those with previous dance experience or 9+ with no dance experience. Alamo City Arts Academy teaches classical ballet to help improve coordination, balance and flexibility while teaching the basic ballet positions, steps, and terminology through standing barre work and simple center floor exercises. Ballet classes at this level are one-hour in duration, and it is recommended that Level 1 students take a one-hour class twice a week.

Jazz/Hiphop 2-4 is recommended for dancers age 10 and up with previous ballet and jazz/hiphop experience. Dancers will focus on strength/conditioning as well as flexibility training with an emphasis on leaps and turns.

Dance Foundations is recommended for ages 6-8 with no previous dance training required. Students in this level will work on establishing a strong, technical foundation in ballet, focusing on correct posture, muscle engagement and musicality. Students will spend three-quarters of the class in ballet slippers learning basic ballet technique and the remainder of the class in jazz shoes, learning basic jazz fundamentals.
It is strongly recommended that students take this 60 minute class twice a week.

Folklorico 1-2 is recommended for dancers age 5-10 with no prior dance training. In this beginning Folklorico level, dancers will learn the fundamentals of Folklorico footwork & skirt work while learning the cultural history of different regions of folklorico. Dancers will establish a strong foundation of traditional Folklorico through an advanced curriculum.
Folklorico students are strongly recommended to take this one-hour class once a week alongside at least one ballet class, at the appropriate level, a week.
