SINGIN' IN THE RAIN SR.
We are SO excited to be granted the opportunity by Musical Theatre International to be one of the US Pilot productions of SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN SR., a show program for Ages 55+!

The "Greatest Movie Musical of All Time" is faithfully and lovingly adapted by Broadway legends Betty Comden and Adolph Green, from their original award-winning screenplay in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN SR. Hilarious situations, snappy dialogue and a hit-parade score of Hollywood standards make SINGIN' IN THE RAIN SR. a guaranteed good time for performers and audience members alike.

SINGIN' IN THE RAIN SR. has all the makings of a Tinseltown tabloid headline — the starlet, the leading man and a love affair that could change lives and make or break careers! In silent movies, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a hot item, but behind the scenes, things aren't always as they appear on the big screen! Meanwhile, Lina's squeaky voice might be the end of her career in "talking pictures" without the help of a talented young actress to do the talking and singing for her.

Our senior community is smart, savvy, active, and passionate. They deserve the opportunity to tell stories, use their voices, flex skills, and learn new things. #teamBARCLAY is PROUD to launch the “Never Too Late Players” with SINGING IN THE RAIN SR.

Monologue & Scene Study
This is an advanced course designed for students who are interested in pursuing theatre as a potential career path. The main goal of this course is to examine monologues and scenes from a story-telling perspective.

This class will begin with the basics of story structure: exposition, intrusion, rising action, etc. Students will use this to create the loose outline of a story, and from there, write their own monologues. We will then dive into some exercises to introduce the concepts of objective, moment before, beats, etc. The students will apply what they’ve learned to the monologue they’ve written.

They will then be assigned a series of monologues exploring a new concept for each:

• Breaking a Monologue into three acts
• Telling a story
• The Audition Monologue
• Connecting to Scene Partner

This course will conclude with applying these concepts to a two-three person scene.
