Ballet/Gym Beginner
This is a recreational class only. This team will not go to any competitions to preform their routine they have learned. These students will showcase in their recital. This class will be one day each week.
In Recreational Ballet, ages 4-8, students will learn the basics of the genre which include how to do a pirouette (turn), a jetes (leaps), various jumps, the ballet positions (1-5), and because ballet moves are French, we will study and memorize what each of the movements are called as well as what that French word means. We will begin each class with stretches in a "circle time" style, and then work as a group on one to two ballet technique elements. We will go across the floor in order to gain muscle memory. For the last part of class, we will learn a ballet combo that incorporates the elements we learned and practiced with.
DRESS CODE: Students in Recreational Ballet 4-8 should wear a leotard, tights, ballet shoes, and hair must be pulled back away from the face.
