Suggested age: 8-11
Introducing more challenging steps, this class follows the typical ballet structure of barrework, stretch, center floor, and across the floor as we challenge dancers to improve upon the basics they’ve learned up to this point. More complex combinations are incorporated as they learn to use their bodies in new ways.

Class Requirements: Must show a developmentally appropriate understanding of plié, tendu, jeté, rond de jambe, relevé, spring points, retiré, feet positions 1-3, port de bras, balancé, sauté, traveling across the floor, and focus during class. *Dancers may join as beginners on a trial basis and will be placed according to their needs*

Preparatory Level 1
Suggested age: 8+
This class is for students who are ready for higher intensity learning. Barrework is done mostly with one hand on the barre and more complicated patterns are introduced to help with memory. Strengthening and stretching are a major focus as we are beginning to prepare students for pointe work. Includes end of semester evaluations.

Class Requirements: Must show a working knowledge of barre exercises, placement, feet and arm positions, and focus during class. *Dancers may join as beginners on a trial basis and will be placed according to their needs*

Adult Dance 2
Intermediate Level
This class will build on the foundations that we have already covered in the beginner level class and is suitable for those who have had 1-2 years of experience or more. We will add in more complex steps and combinations as we explore all the artistry and technicality ballet has to offer. This class will perform in the spring recital.

Homeschool Preparatory Level 1
Suggested age 9+
This class follows the same structure as Preparatory Level 1, but is offered in the daytime, specifically for homeschoolers. This is also a great class for older beginners as we take some more time at the beginning of the school year to go over basics (although basics are good for everyone!). Strengthening, stretching and proper placement are a major focus as we move through the ballet class.

Creative Movement Tuesday
Suggested age: 3-4 years
Specially designed for 3-4 year olds, this class focuses on the very basics of rhythm and movement in a fun, energetic environment. Your dancer will clap and sing along to familiar tunes as well as classical music as we develop their gross motor skills. Structure and repetition allow creativity to thrive in this class. Let’s get moving!

Junior/Intermediate Tap
Suggested age: 7+
In this class we build on the basics learned in intro to tap and learn the names of specific steps. More emphasis is placed on learning the combination of sounds to create new steps and listening to the beat of the music. Much of dance is learned by repetition, and tap is no exception. Dancers will use the invaluable tool of repetition to grow and learn in this class.

Taking things to the next level, intermediate tap is for dancers who are ready to challenge themselves. We focus on more complicated steps, challenging rhythms, and syncopation. Not only will dancers learn more about tap, they will also gain a deeper understanding of music as they continue to learn how to use their bodies as instruments.

Suggested age: 7+
This class builds on the foundations learned in Intro to Jazz as we add in more difficult steps and put together fun combinations. Leaps and turns begin to be taught as fundamentals of jazz dance. This high energy class will keep your dancer moving and grooving!

Intermediate Jazz
Suggested age: 10+
In this class we take things a step further and push the dancers to go bigger in their movements, stronger in their steps, and higher in their leaps. We also incorporate different styles of jazz, like Fosse and more modern pop jazz to give dancers a well-rounded understanding of jazz. Oftentimes, this class will do a combined dance with the Advanced Jazz class in the end of the year recital.

This class is for dancers who have shown dedication to learning and progressing and are eager for challenges. We push the dancers to do more, express bigger, and continue to improve their technique. Incorporating more complex steps and combinations helps dancers to grow in their jazz dance repertoire.

Suggested age: 7-9 years
This class follows the structure of a typical ballet class: barre, stretch, center floor, across the floor. Dancers learn more steps at the barre and learn how to utilize them in the center and across the floor as we begin introducing more combinations of steps. Strengthening and stretching is still a high priority as dancers at this age are laying the foundation for their dance lives.

Class Requirements: Must show a developmentally appropriate understanding of plié, tendu, jeté, relevé, spring points, retiré, feet positions 1 & 2, port de bras, and focus during class. *Dancers may join as beginners on a trial basis and will be placed according to their needs*

Advanced Tap
Suggested age: 12+
Dancers in this class will learn even more challenging and complex tap steps and rhythms as they explore new patterns and sounds. Syncopation plays heavily into this class as we learn to switch up the beats with our shoes. Dancers are sure to work up a sweat in this class as they push themselves to be better and better!

Beginner Level
In this class we will cover the basics of ballet including proper alignment and placement, the feet and arm positions, as well as basic steps. You’ll be able to learn at your own pace as well as be challenged as we move through a typical ballet class. Come join the fun and flow of ballet! This class has an option to perform in the spring recital.

Working on refining skills and building a knowledge of more advanced steps, intermediate ballet is for those who are ready to take their dancing to the next level. Pre-pointe exercises are incorporated throughout class with one day/week specifically focused on more strengthening exercises. Includes end of semester evaluations.

Class Requirements: Must demonstrate a working knowledge of barre exercises, placement, feet and arm positions, body positions, demonstrate an adequate amount of strength and flexibility, and focus during class. Must attend both days/week.

Advanced Ballet
Suggested age: 13+
This class is for dancers who are ready to challenge themselves to continuously improve as we explore the deeper aspects of artistry, technique, and strengthening. Pointe work is included in this class, but a dancer is not required to be en pointe to participate in this class. Includes end of semester evaluations.

Class Requirements: Must demonstrate a working knowledge of barre exercises, placement, feet and arm positions, body positions, demonstrate an adequate amount of strength and flexibility, and focus during class. Must attend all days/week.

Ballet 1
Suggested age: 6-8 years
Focusing on more barrework and center floor steps, dancers will learn the proper body placement for ballet and how to incorporate it into the steps we learned in Begin Ballet. Strengthening and stretching also takes a priority as dancers learn more control of their body.

Class Requirements: Must show a developmentally appropriate understanding of plié, tendu, relevé, spring points, retiré (popcorn toes), and focus during class. *Dancers may join as beginners on a trial basis and will be placed according to their needs*

Intro to Tap & Jazz
Suggested age: 6-8 years
In this class, dancers will get an exciting introduction to both tap and jazz! They will alternate each week between the two styles, giving them the full half hour to focus on the elements of each style. Dancers will learn the basic skills needed for both jazz and tap giving them a solid foundation for the rest of their dance education.

Building on the skills learned in Pre-Ballet, we continue to challenge dancers as we incorporate the basic elements of dance (body, action, space, time, energy) and introduce barrework. Creativity is still a main focus of this class as we encourage dancers to express themselves and their emotions through dance.
