This class is designed for dancers with the goal of going on pointe. Instructors will focus on dancers to further develop and strengthen muscles necessary to go en pointe, stressing correct alignment and correct technique. Dancers are required to take 1-2 additional ballet classes in order to be considered for pre-pointe. This class requires office registration to ensure dancers are meeting all requirements.

- Dancers must have at least one year of prior ballet training and must also take an additional ballet class along with the Pre-Pointe class. -
- Dancers in Pre-Pointe are evaluated in class and instructors may recommend Pointe once dancers are at least 11½ years old.

In this class, we'll cover all the elements needed to successfully execute turns, including correct posture and placement of the shoulders, core, arms, legs and feet, how to prepare, the importance of spotting, and how to find and keep your balance. We'll then practice a pirouette combination. Allégro refers to all fast or brisk steps and movements. Every step where a ballet dancer jumps are considered allégro. This includes sautés, jetés, cabrioles, assemblés, etc. Students are encouraged to study ballet first and/or along with other forms of dance, as it is the foundation to all dance. This class is focused on cardio to increase endurance for the dancer, Building total body strength (arms, abdominal, and legs), lengthening our muscles and increasing our range of motion while working to prtoect our joints.

Strong muscles and flexible joints are vital in protecting the body and of course improving dance skills for your turns, leaps and overall movement.

Healthy muscles are important to let you move freely and keep your body strong.

This class incorporates Therabands, tennis balls, foot stretchers, Stretch Bands, ankle weights, and blocks to make the process more fun and effective!

Ballet Pre-Pointe (Thu)

This class is designed for dancers with the goal of going on pointe. Instructors will focus on dancers to further develop and strengthen muscles necessary to go en pointe, stressing correct alignment and correct technique. Dancers are required to take 1-2 additional ballet classes in order to be considered for pre-pointe. This class requires office registration to ensure dancers are meeting all requirements.

- Dancers must have at least one year of prior ballet training and must also take an additional ballet class along with the Pre-Pointe class. -
- Dancers in Pre-Pointe are evaluated in class and instructors may recommend Pointe once dancers are at least 11½ years old.

* Girls' attire -- Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair secured in bun.
* Boys' attire -- Black dance pants, fitted white t-shirt, black ballet shoes.

Acro is a special class focused on body mechanics to develop precision acrobatic elements used in dances. Strength, flexibility, power can be achieved through acro training. Focus is on injury prevention, body alignment, and stabilization.
> Must have the following skills already before registering for this intermediate level class: Cartwheels, Limbers, Bridges, Handstands, Right/Left/Middle Splits, Forward & Backwards Rolls
> skill worked on in II-III level acro: Standing Backbend, One-handed Cartwheels, Round Off, Elbow Stands, Body Rolls, Walkovers, Toe Rises, Split Rolls, and combining at least 2 skills.

Jasmine’s Beat® aims to empower people of all ages, sex, race and abilities to embrace the power of dance and healthy movement, through the guidance of a Recreational Therapist and founder, Jasmine Mathew. We yearn to make aware the avenue of dance for health, emotional self-esteem, and social and physical well-being. Our ambition is to be skilled at having fun through dance and to share this skill as a continued passion in the Richardson community. We provide adaptive dance classes for all ages and all abilities, no matter the disability or need. Our classes range from ASL Hip-hop to Adaptive Fusion (mixing various dance styles) and will continue to grow with more styles and will be performing with Centre for Dance's End of Year Recital as an option for all of our adaptive dancers, providing sensory sensitive capabilities.
