Ballet is a highly specific artform with a series of universal terminology and movement that is to be executed precisely. Groove Studios offers a Vaganova based curriculum to our ballet students. Vaganova is the Russian style of ballet and is known as one of the most technically demanding methods of ballet, giving our dancers a strong technical foundation.

Poised in fluid movement combined with precision and strength, upper levels of Ballet technique may include Pointe if the dancer has been invited en to pointe.

Students will be expected to contribute to class discussions, to give and receive constructive criticism, and to perform.

All students will be expected to show respect to one another while working together, performing or being an audience member.

Contemporary dance embodies the vulnerability of the dancer’s emotions and combines it with a firm technical foundation. Contemporary fuses attributes of many dance styles including Ballet technique, Jazz, lyrical, and Hip-hop through a range of isolation and breath based movement.
