Adult Fabric Flow (Sept-Oct)
This class is for everyone looking to build their strength on fabric and expand their aerial knowledge! All classes will begin with a 15-20 minute warm up, followed by conditioning, and skills. The focus of this series is on flowing through shapes and conditioning to improve climbs and inversions.

Pre Reqs: Must have attended 2 fabric classes/private lessons with us, or have prior approval from instructor. We do allow drop-ins for this class if not full.

Drop-in policy: Drop-ins are non-refundable unless the studio cancels class due to inclement weather. The studio must be notified 24-hrs or more in advance to apply the credit toward another class. If we are notified within a 24-hour period, the credit can apply toward one open gym session with us.

Adult Lyra 1 (Sept-Oct)
Come explore movement on an aerial Lyra! Each class will begin with a 20 minute warm-up, followed by engaging conditioning drills, and exploring shapes/spinning/maneuvers on a lyra.

Pre Reqs: Must have attended 2 sessions of 'Intro to Aerial' at Salem Aerial Dance Company, or have prior approval from instructor.

This mixed level class will begin with a 15-20 minute warm up, followed by conditioning, and skills. Students will be guided in learning various shapes and techniques to weave in and around a trapeze. Come join us as we explore new ways to move your body through space and in the air.

Intro to Aerial (Oct)
Want to try aerial, but unsure where to start?! Our introduction series is perfect for those new to aerial. Each class begins with a 15-20 minute warm up, followed by conditioning, and skills. Each week, students will be introduced to a new apparatus, silk, trapeze and lyra. Focus will be on overall flexibility, building upper body and core strength along with shoulder stability. Basic fundamentals will be taught, climbing, inversions and different shapes on the apparatus.

This class is held each month starting on the first Friday of the month. This series is required 2x before enrolling in our other adult series classes. We do allow drop-ins for this class, but recommend taking it as a series to build skills and maintain strength.

Adult Aerial Sling (Sept-Oct)
In this class we'll learn the foundations of aerial sling! All classes will begin with a 15-20 minute warm up, followed by conditioning, and skills. Students will learn basic fabric shapes, and silks conditioning, building up to shapes, sequencing, spinning and beginner drops. Suggested prerequisites are an assisted inversion with the silk on low back, and getting to standing in the sling.

Prereqs include 4 clean straddle inverts in the air, a fan hip key on both sides, knowledge of all footlocks.

-SADC reserves the right to cancel open gyms/refund clients in the event there are less than two paying attendees

Workshops

Active Flexibility Workshop
Cost: $45

In this workshop, students will be guided through a series of drills that work to increase flexibility. We will specifically hone in on backhanding and splits. Class is designed for those looking to increase their flex goals in relation to aerial, but anyone is welcome to join! Functional anatomy will be taught as we move into the more vulnerable spaces in our bodies. Oftentimes, it's easy to just sit in a split and feel we're making progress. The reality is, many of us need to work our synergist muscles when stretching to achieve results. If this all sounds like a foreign language, come and join us! Together we can discuss all things flexibility and work towards our collective goals. Students will leave with tools for their training toolbox.

It is strongly encouraged that students are comfortable with touch and working with partners for this specific workshop. If you are not comfortable with touch and sign up, please email the studio in advance. That way we can connect with the instructor and be sure to have modifications planned ahead! We are a safe space for all.

Please note this is *not* a yoga class. This class is geared toward achieving more extreme ranges of motion via specific muscular engagements and body patterning.
