This is a great starting place for the younger students. At Shining Stars Dance School we strive to provide activities that will emphasize learning of the skills needed to prepare dancers for the next level, the ballet and tap combination classes. In our pre dance classes your Shining Star will practice hopping, jumping, balance, flexibility, coordination, classroom behavior, following directions, and SO MUCH MORE! This class is NOT eligible for the multiclass discount. This class will do one dance in the spring recital! They will need pink ballet shoes, leotard and tights and hair up for the classroom.

This is a great class for students who have had 1-5 years of experience. Students whom are 7 years old should have at least one year experience with ballet and tap. Students will work on ballet, tap and jazz technique at each class and will perform three dances in the spring recital. They will have one costume for recital. This class is NOT eligible for the multiclass discount.
Students will need pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes and black jazz shoes. A leotard and tights with hair up is required for class. Leggings and a tank top can be substituted on occasion if needed.
Ages 7 - 10

This class will consist of both ballet and tap every class as we learn basic technique for both helping your child with rhythms, fluid movement and self discipline. At Shining Stars our pre school classes are designed to prepare your child to be more confident in the world around them. We will work on classroom behavior, following directions, memorizing sequences, coordination, balance, and musicality as well as skipping, turning, leaping, and learning to lead and follow! This class will do both ballet and tap technique at all classes and will perform two dances at recital. They will have one costume for spring recital. This class is NOT eligible for the multiclass discount.

Hair must be low bun, lot pony, french braid, pig tails, etc. No top of the hair hair styles to make standing on the head or rolling easier. This class is NOT eligible for the multiclass discount.

At Shining Stars we use a graded tap system that allows our teachers to monitor the progress of our dancers very closely. Jazz tap shoes or an advanced tap shoe style approved by the instructor is required for this tap class. Students must have been in this class last year or have permission from instructor.

This is a great beginning level class for 8-9 year olds. Students whom are 5.5 -6 years old would be more comfortable in this class with at least one year of ballet and tap experience. (If you register your dancer for this class and they are not 5 1/2 by August 1 with at least one year of dance training, they will be moved to a more suitable class.) Students will work on ballet, tap and hip-hop technique at each class and will perform three dances in the spring recital. They will have one costume for recital. This class is NOT eligible for the multiclass discount. Dancers need pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes and a low tread sneaker for hip hop.
Ages 5 - 8
This is a great beginning level class for 8-9 year olds. Students whom are 5.5 -6 years old would be more comfortable in this class with at least one year of ballet and tap experience. ADULT Intro to Tap Dancing
There is NO registration fee for this class!
This class is designed for adults with little to no knowledge of tap dance but would love to learn or improve upon their skills. This class will cover basic steps and terminology that will prepare for a foundation for tap dancing skills and movement. Tap dancing is a great way to develop musicality, timing and balance! This class is $30 a month or, if you choose, $10 a class paid in cash at the start of class. Come learn a new skill and bring your friends! You can try class a few weeks with a slick bottom shoe before purchasing tap shoes but, to really get the most out of class, tap shoes are needed and make class much more fun!
Ages 18 - 99

A low tread tennis shoes used only for dance class is required for this class. This class may be appropriate for some advanced and mature 9 year olds. If your dancer is 9 please ask before enrolling.

One costume will be required. Beginner tap shoes, pink ballet shoes and a low tread sneaker used only for dance class (with Velcro closure preferred) is required. Appropriate dance attire is required and hair must be up. This particular combination class is designed especially for students who have 1-5 years of dance experience. This is a great place to learn about multiple styles of dance and get the most for your time and money.

This is a combination class that will include 3 disciplines of dance (ballet, tap and hip hop) in every class. Students will lean a dance for each discipline to be performed in the spring recital. If you would like to be on our competition team please register here and we will get more details soon! The $100 registration fee will be deducted from the cost of the team price of $700 for the group. ($700 is for the year and includes the entry fees for 3 local competitions and all lessons, choreography, etc) Dancers that want to be on the SSDS competition team will be required to be enrolled in weekly classes at SSDS.
