Placement in this class should be approved by studio. We are an Acrobatic Arts certified studio and follow the Acrobatic Arts syllabus! Acrobatic Arts is a tried and true systematic approach to acrobatic skills. Each level builds upon the skills learned in previous levels and helps to clearly define goals for each dancer while minimizing the risk of injury. The program breaks each level into five categories: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering, and Tumbling. There is a set of skills for each category that must be achieved before moving on to the next level. This program is designed so that skills can be incorporated into dance seamlessly, which is the ultimate goal of any acrobatic dance program. Dress Code - Girls: Any color or pattern dancewear: bra tops, dance tanks, leotards, dance shorts, or dance leggings. Tights (any color) are optional, but should be footless or stirrup. NO t-shirts – must be fitted dance/athletic wear! Hair should be pulled back into a neat bun. Students will be barefoot for this class. Technique & Conditioning 2 - 4
This class is designed to improve technique, flexibility, core strength, and stamina. Dancers will develop skills to improve their leaps and turns. In addition this class will focus on stretch and strength training that will improve overall dance ability and increase stamina for other dance classes. This is a level 2 - 4 class. Dress Code - Girls: Any color or pattern dancewear: bra tops, dance tanks, leotards, dance shorts, or dance leggings. Tights (any color) are optional. All clothing worn should be dance/athletic wear. This free form, energetic, vibrant style of dance will expose dancers to a wide range of movements and styles! This class will incorporate variations of jazz, popping, locking, as well as help students build strength, flexibility, endurance, and balance. Placement in this class should be approved by studio. Dress Code: Any dancewear and/or t-shirts and sweatpants. Any tennis shoes or boots that are not worn on the street can be worn. NO STREET SHOES can be worn inside the studio.

Beginner Belly Dance
Learn the foundation of one of the oldest forms of dance from the Middle East! With the use of isolations, core work and graceful movements, you will harness power and control in your body. You will move to many different rhythms and tempos and work with a variety of props. Discover the joy of belly dance! Ages 6 - 11. Poi Spinning 1 - 2
This ancient Maori art form has become a very popular flow art and body balancing activity. Bring your own poi balls to class or borrow some from Karen. Everyone will work at their own skill level during the course. This is a fun way learn how to coordinate your body while keeping your arms limber and strong like the Maori warriors of New Zealand. Poi Twirling is usually done with a ball attached to the end of a string. There are many types of poi now. The minimum age for this class is 6. Dress Code - Girls: Any color or pattern dancewear: bra tops, dance tanks, leotards, dance shorts, or dance leggings. Tights (any color) are optional. All clothing worn should be dance/athletic wear. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knees and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun. Placement in this class should be approved by studio. Ages 9 - 11. Lyrical is a dance form based on creative expression that tells a story. Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz which combines one’s own expression along with technical skills. Pre-Pointe
Pre-pointe classes are offered to ballet students who are not yet on pointe to further develop and strengthen the muscles necessary to go en pointe. Pre-pointe classes stress correct alignment and correct classical ballet technique. Pre-pointe classes also allow teachers to assess readiness, offering an atmosphere for proper evaluation of important skills. This class will also be used for first year students en pointe. More advanced ballet/pointe students can also benefit from the extra technique training this class offers. Placement in this class should be approved by studio. Contemporary combines ballet and modern techniques with musical and emotional expression. This class explores the contemporary style with introductory level technique and focuses on interpreting music and choreography. Beginner Swing
Think you have two left feet? Wish you had the rhythm to get out on the dance floor with a partner? Come and learn to swing dance! This is a beginner level class and we will be covering the basics of leading and following this fun dance style. We will be emphasizing the bouncy, stretchy feeling of classic 6 beat and 8 beat Lindy Hop, as well as exploring individual and partnered side-by-side Charleston. Partner not required, but the more the merrier as we will rotate partners through the class to increase your confidence to get out on the social dance floor. Each class is followed by an hour of social dancing to classic swing songs so you can practice your new skills. Drop-in rate is $15 with social hour included or $50 monthly. No multi class discounts are offered for this class in conjunction with the other adult classes we offer.
