Contemporary class uses the technical foundations studied in ballet, modern and jazz classes to develop deeper musicality and expressiveness in movement. Emphasis is placed on how each individual communicates through the movement, creating their artistic voice. Contemporary allows for a wide range of music choices and dance vocabulary. Continued attention on technique will allow each individual to grow as a dancer. 6th grade and up.

Audition required for placement in this class. This intermediate ballet class builds on the technique and concepts learned in Ballet I focusing on terminology, proper alignment, turn out, posture, combinational execution, musicality, and graceful power.

Pointe Class is designed for students ages 11 and up and can be taken on flat or in pointe shoes at the instructors discretion. All pointe classes are designed for students with previous ballet training. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. Dancers must have instructor approval for this class and must be enrolled in an additional ballet class.

Acting I (2nd-6th Grade)
In this course students will learn all basic terminology for the actor as well as concepts every actor must know: Acting is action, acting is listening, and acting is reacting. We will learn to tell stories on our feet with and without words through Improv games and exercises, working as an ensemble and a team. Students will also get the opportunity to study basic audition application techniques like cold readings, TV commercial readings, and monologues. The class will play energizing warm-up games, fun physicality exercises, and begin to explore what it means to create an honest story onstage or onscreen.

This acting class consists of fun Improv games and storytelling exercises, with an expectation to begin finding deeper honesty and understanding in every scene taken on. Students will learn to express themselves with full energy onstage. We will begin with foundational acting topics and then move to more intermediate and pre-professional acting work, breaking down internal motivations for our “why” in every scene we perform or create. Students will learn and gain confidence in audition practices with cold reads, monologue-work, TV commercials, scene-work, and observation. Together we will have an exciting time growing as an ensemble and as individuals.

Students will work on audition techniques whether for StarStruck shows, community theater, or college BFA programs.
They will work on 16 and/or 32 bar cuts of music, build a repertoire of monologues, and learn how to be their best selves at a dance call. Mock auditions will be held. Feedback will be given. Students will have the ability to build their “book” while gaining confidence and mastery. *Must be entering 5th Grade*

This energized performance class combines acting, singing and dancing so that your young star learns the skills to become a "ShowBiz Triple Threat." Our StarStruck Team will teach a multitude of skills using Broadway show tunes from various musicals. These classes perform several numbers in StarStruck's annual ShowCase and is the perfect "prep class" for StarStruck's Award Winning Musical Theatre Show Programs! Peter Jones will emphasize proper vocal technique while Leah Landau shows students how to explore song interpretation while adding movement and choreography. This class will also include learning successful audition techniques and building the foundation to become a triple threat. This class is designed for students in K-2nd grade.

Musical Theatre Mini-Stars (3-4 Year Olds)
An introductory Musical Theatre class for your Broadway Bound Star! Broadway MiniStars is for our youngest singers (ages 3-4) and dancers. If your child loves to sing and dance in the living room this class is for them. Students will learn songs and choreography as well as develop physical motion, rhythm, and coordination. Broadway MiniStars helps introduce children to body awareness, coordination, flexibility and musicality through age appropriate exercises and creative movement. Children are encouraged to explore their own creative expression of music and dance movement. This class provides a fun and playful experience while introducing children to the social skills of group dynamics, self-control, listening, respect for themselves and others, and boosts their confidence and self-esteem!

Pre-Ballet/Tap/Jazz Class is an introduction to the basics using methods designed for young imaginative minds and bodies. Students are given the opportunity to move, stretch, and improve self-confidence while being introduced to basic jazz, ballet and tap concepts, body alignment, posture, balance, locomotor skills, as well as develop self-expression through creative movement. These classes emphasize proper placement, vocabulary, etiquette, as well as jazz, tap and ballet-based improvisation.

This class is for eager learners at all levels who are looking to do a musical jazz class that combines singing and dancing to further build stamina and stage presence. Students should be in show shoes (such as character heels) to safely learn how to dance in them. Build your repertoire and knowledge of various choreographers and styles. Famous numbers from a variety of musicals will be taught. Be ready for your next audition! For ages 3rd grade and up!

Lights, camera, action! StarStruck's Technical Theatre class is perfect for someone who is looking to learn how to work “behind” the purple curtain. This weekly class is a great way to become more than a triple threat on the stage - learn how to create behind the scenes as well! Every student will have the opportunity to be hands-on with state of the art equipment. Students will learn the basics of audio, video and lighting, receive hands on training creating props and set pieces, as well as set design.
This class is designed for those in 4th -12th grades.
