Elementary Hip Hop
In this beginning level class students will begin building fundamentals of Hip-Hop. This class will meet once a week for 60 minutes. This class focuses on teaching technique and education of the style while fostering a fun a loving environment.
This is a Hip-Hop class for beginning Hip Hop dancers with 2 years or less of in class instruction. Hip-Hop encompasses a wide range of street styles including breaking, locking, and popping. This class specifically focuses on developing/building rhythm and coordination while encouraging individual style. Hip-Hop is popularized on music videos. Students of this style of dancing learn rhythm and fast beat movement and style to in today’s most popular music (age appropriate). This class is more funky and less technical than Jazz.
This class will participate in the spring recital and will require a costume purchase as well as hip hop shoes all selected by the studio.

In this class students will begin learning the basic of both ballet and jazz and continue building on those basics throughout the season.
Ballet has been influential globally and had defined the foundational techniques that are used in many other genres and cultures.
Classical ballet is based on formalized movements and positions of the arms, feet, and body designed to enable the dancer to move with the greatest possible agility, control, speed, lightness, and grace.
Jazz dance is a style that mirrors the sounds and rhythms of the music. Generally, a fast passed movement that brings high energy and character to the movement.

This class will participate in local performances as scheduled as well as our year end Spring Recital. The students in this class will be required to purchase a costume selected by the studio and jazz shoes.

We have developed a top-notch curriculum for this age group keeping in mind that dancers this age need the class to keep moving and to have fun while learning. The focus in all of our age 5-6-year-old classes is placed on early physical and social development, working on developing and refining gross motor skills and coordination. The class is structured to reinforce social skills such as taking turns and cooperating with others in a group setting.
In addition to proper dance technique, your student will start learning:
1.How to follow directions
2.To share with other kids.
3. Be independent.
4. How to take turns.
5. Gain confidence in themselves.

Classy Technique
This class is structured for students that are not new to dance concepts and are on a beginning to intermediate level of training. This class will meet once a week for 60 minutes. In this class we work on improving, the dancer’s strength, flexibility, and technical skills for leaps, jumps and turns.
The class typically will include a warmup, flexibility, and conditioning with a more intense focus on body alignment, centering, and extension that will improve overall balance and core strength, and ultimately technique.
As the class progresses, the teacher will move into practicing various leaps, jumps, and turns while correcting posture and technique with the individual dancer.
Enrollment in this class allows an instructor the opportunity to correct and improve upon skills introduced in a jazz or ballet class as well as early intervention with improper form and alignment that may impede mastering future dance skills.
Having good technique is an indication of the maturity of a dancer and thereby increases scores when performing a technical skill at a competition.
This class is a technique class only and will not participate in any of our performances or our spring recital. There will not be a costume purchase for this class.

Elementary Power Tap
Students in this class learn to use their feet as a rhythmical instrument. This class will meet once a week for 60 minutes.
We focus on training proper technique while fostering a fun a loving environment. Syncopation, musicality and a variety of step styles are taught. Music ranges from Pop, Rock, Country, and Novelty. The double taps worn on the bottom of the student clogging shoe creates an enjoyable rhythm in time with the music. This is a very fun upbeat style of dance that your student will love!
This class will perform in local performances as scheduled as well as our year end Spring Recital. This class will be required to purchase a costume selected by the studio as well as white clogging shoes.

Contemporary dance is a captivating genre that defines traditional boundaries of dance. It blends elements from various dance styles, including classical ballet, Jazz, Modern, and lyrical dance. Contemporary dance embraces improvisation and versatility. Dancers express themselves through fluidity, exploring the mid body connection all while creating a medium for storytelling.
Lyrical dance utilizes the lyrics of a song to inspire movement. It blends elements from various dance styles including, ballet, jazz, acrobatics, and modern dance and expresses the emotion and lyrics of the music.
Contemporary and lyrical dance are two distinct styles of dance. The main differences between the two are: Emphasis on either emotion or technique, the type of music used, and the overall feel of the dance. Lyrical dances are often softer and more flowing, while contemporary dances are often sharper and more powerful.
We have developed a top-notch curriculum for this age group keeping in mind that dancers this age need the class to keep moving and to have fun while learning. The focus in all of our classes is placed on understanding the physical and social development of each student, while working on developing and refining gross motor skills and coordination.
This class will perform in local performances as scheduled as well as our year end Spring Recital. This class will be required to purchase a costume.

Ballet has been influential globally and had defined the foundational techniques that are used in many other genres and cultures.
Classical ballet is based on formalized movements and positions of the arms, feet, and body designed to enable the dancer to move with the greatest possible agility, control, speed, lightness, and grace. This class requires a black leotard and black ballet skirt that should be worn to class every week. Student’s will participate in the recital, however there will be no costume purchase for this class. 3-4-year-old Creative Movement
In this class students will begin to learn using their bodies creating movement and artistic expression while focusing on development of motor skills and expression of emotions. This class will meet once a week for 60 minutes.

Creative Movement is a dance practice where students generate movement in response to a prompt of some kind. Students explore concepts of Body, Effort, Space, Time, and Relationship while developing a personal vocabulary of locomotor and non-locomotor movements.

Dance and creative movement provide stimulation for three of the five senses at once: touch, sight, and hearing. By listening to the music and learning how to move in time with the beat, children begin to more finely hone their senses and learn how their bodies can work in harmony with the stimuli around them.

This class will perform at local performances as scheduled as well as our Spring Recital. This class will be required to purchase a costume.

These students should have a good understanding of terminology such as pirouette, plie, tendu, battement, chaine and the 5 ballet positions. This class requires a black leotard and black ballet skirt that should be worn to class every week. Pre-Pointe Ballet
Pre-Point is a pointe preparation class for serious ballet students interested in dancing en pointe. This class will meet once a week for 60 minutes and is focused on proper ballet technique education while fostering a fun a loving environment.
This class is taken barefoot where a portion of the class is spent doing foot/ankle exercises and stretches on the floor. Students also do strenuous core strengthening exercises. A portion of the time will be spent at the barre doing repetitious strength-building exercises. Pre-Pointe class is required before being considered to dance en pointe. The student will need to have taken no less than 3 years of ballet training. The student will take a minimum of one year of Pre-Pointe before being considered for advancement to Pointe class and MUST ALSO be enrolled in a minimum of one-hour additional ballet class for the season.
This class will participate in local performances as scheduled and our Spring Recital. This class will perform in local performances as scheduled as well as our year end Spring Recital. Students will also be required to purchase a costume selected by the studio and light pink Hanami Ballet Shoes.

This class will help to expand their styles in dance as well as help the student pick up choreography quicker. This class will help students to utilize their bodies when dancing and help with movement quality.

Having good technique is an indication of the maturity of a dancer and thereby increases scores when performing a technical skill at a competition.
This class is a technique class only and will not participate in any of our performances or our spring recital. There will not be a costume purchase for this class.

In this class students will improve their strength and flexibility. These two factors are equally important to a dancer as technique itself as strength and flexibility directly affect the execution of technique. This class is encouraged for all dancers who are serious about their future as a dancer. This class will meet once a week for 60 minutes.
Each week we will focus on a different part of the dancer's body targeting those areas to grow the overall performance of the dancer's body. This class can even benefit those not currently training to be a dancer by shaping all the right muscles that will lead to you feeling like your most confident self!
This class is not a performance class therefor students will not participate in any of our performances or our spring recital. There will not be a costume purchase for this class.
