Afro Beats Mix is a dance class that explores popular dances from Africa, and their diaspora. Integral to the dances themselves, students will dance to popular music from West Africa and Paris that is a combination of electronic beat, and traditional African music mixed with house music and hip hop made specifically for the clubs; such as the Congolese dance Ndombolo, Azonto from Ghana, Kuduro from the Carribean, and Coolie Catché from Togo, and many more.

Drawing on the funny lyrics of the songs that make light of social events and highlight famous figures, students will explore expressing themselves and dancing their everyday lives and activities. In addition to the dances themselves, students will learn the history behind the dance, and together have fun showing different sides of themselves and laughing.
