January Reminders

Proper Clothing and Shoes for classes
First and foremost, our goals this year are to provide a greater level of uniformity while remaining extremely budget friendly. We are requesting the following:

Ages 2-4 - baby blue dancewear. This is usually a baby blue body suit for girls and a baby blue tshirt and black shorts for a boy but we welcome children in whatever attire they feel most comfortable in, regardless of gender. The body suit can be purchased through the studio or anywhere that dance attire is sold. Children should also be in ballet slippers for the creative movement class but please feel free to wait and see if your child takes to the class before making a purchase. They are welcome in bare feet to begin with.

Ages 4-6 light pink dancewear. This age group is being asked to wear 'traditional ballet colours' with is usually a light pink body suit and light pink tights for girls in ballet, jazz or tap. Traditionally, boys have worn white tshirts and black shorts in these genre but we welcome children in whatever attire they feel most comfortable in, regardless of gender. Shoes would be appropriate for the dance genre - light pink ballet shoes, black jazz or tap shoes. For acro, no tights or shoes are required.

Ages 7+ black dancewear. This age group is being asked to wear black body suits with either tights or shorts/leggings to ballet, tap, acro and jazz at a minimum.

IN GENERAL, for hip hop, we recognize that the genre does not call for traditional attire. We are requesting that kids stick to the black, white, gold, yellow studio colour pallet. INDOOR running shoes must be worn for class. It is important we keep our dance floors clean.

IN GENERAL, for ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and acro, clothes should be tight to the body to allow teachers to see body movements and assist teachers' ability to see what the dancers are doing.

Parent/Guardian Participation Week is Jan 15th-20th for Recreational Classes only
This is a fun opportunity to see what we have been working on in class. Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in!

Costume Deposits for Recital are due Wednesday January 31st
Please let us know as soon as possible if your student is NOT attending the recital.
