Policies and Procedures

Welcome to the Steppin’ Out Performing Arts Family! We are so glad you have joined us this season. Below are our policies and procedures to help us have a smooth and successful year. If at any time you have questions or concerns please reach out and let us know. We are excited for a fantastic and magical year!

REGISTRATION: You may register online www.steppinoutpaga.com
Registration fee for monthly tuition classes is $50 annually per student. Registration fee for monthly tuition classes is non-refundable and includes one leotard or shirt for the dance year. It is understood that when you register your child you are agreeing to abide by and follow the Policies and Procedures. *Classes held in sessions or that are one time do not include a leotard.

TUITION: Due on the 1st of each month, regardless of additional fees. If paid after the 10th, there will be a $15 late fee. Tuition can be paid through the Parent Portal, Paypal, Cash, or Check. If you choose to discontinue class, we ask for a 30 day email cancellation. Your account will continue to be charged until notice is given. All balances must be paid in full before receiving recital packages and attending recital performances.

AUTO-PAY: You may choose to set up the auto-pay option through your parent portal account. The auto-pay option will automatically pay for tuition only. Any other fees added to your account must be paid for manually by logging into your parent portal account. The auto-pay option processes payment for tuition on the 1st of each month regardless of any credits on the account.

ATTENDANCE: Once registered for class, students are expected to attend classes regularly. Parents will need to sign their child in each week on the ipad on the front desk before class. There is an understanding that students may become ill, go on vacation, etc. During the recital performance season, it is expected that students miss no more than 3 classes. If more than 3 classes are missed, the student is expected to do makeup classes and it is up to the discretion of the teacher to allow recital participation.
If a student, ages 6 & up, misses more than 3 classes and is participating in the recital, they will be required to schedule private lessons with their teacher, to be fully prepared for the recital. The number of private lessons will be at the discretion of their teacher and based on the number of missed classes.

LOBBY AREA/CONDUCT: We ask parents, families, and friends to be mindful and respectful of the dancers while they are in class. We do not require you to stay the entire class, however you are able to if you would like. If you choose to stay, we ask everyone to remain very quiet in this area. If your child brings a tablet, please make sure you bring headphones. If they have any toys please make sure they are quiet play toys. Parents are asked not to speak to their child during their class time (even “good job” or “thumbs up” can be distracting). We also ask students/parents please DO NOT arrive more than 10 minutes prior to their class time. This will help the lobby not to become too crowded or chaotic. Siblings must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please take all phone calls outside of the studio. In addition to our lobby we hope that families will utilize the benches outside, and any of the fun shops downtown. Please help us respect our instructors and dancers while they are in class.

DRESS CODE: Each class description includes the attire and shoes that are needed for each class. Class descriptions can be found on our website and in your Parent Portal. (Subject to change based on teacher discretion). General dress code for all classes include NO jeans or street shoes, hair must be pulled back in a ponytail or bun, and no jewelry other than stud earrings.

MAKEUP CLASSES: All students have the opportunity to make up any class due to illness, holiday, or vacation break. Students are able to attend any class that falls in their age range. Makeup classes can be done at any time. However, we do need notice for any classes that include dress-up, as we need to make sure we have enough costumes for all the dancers in class that day. Please view the class schedule on our website and send an email to Ms. Laell at office@steppinoutpaga.com and let us know which class you would like to make up and we will let you know the options available.

RECITALS/SHOWS: Holiday and Springs recitals are optional and never mandatory. Recital participation deadlines will be announced. If you do commit to recital performance, we do require commitment of attendance and purchase of recital package through the recital season to perform in each show. We assume all dancers will be participating unless we receive an email, by the deadline, letting us know they WILL NOT be participating. All balances must be paid before any recital packages are handed out. Recital package information and days/times TBA. Recital packages do not include tickets to the recital show.

CODE OF CONDUCT
It is very important to us to keep a safe environment for all of our dancers. We have a specific code of conduct they are expected to follow while they are in class or visiting the studio. Dancers are expected to remain in the dance room for the duration of their class. All students are encouraged to use the restroom before class, however if they need to use the restroom, or leave the room for any reason, they may once they are permitted to do so by the instructor. We need to create an environment that gives the best opportunity for them to learn. Parents, friends, and visitors choosing to wait in the lobby waiting area are asked to be as quiet as possible for the duration of each class. If there are conversations, phone calls, etc that need to take place, we ask that those are taken outside. We ask everyone to be respectful of the ballet barres and not touch them unless permitted to do so by the instructor. Only dance shoes are permitted on the dance floor: ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop.

~NO street shoes on dance floor
~NO gum or jewelry permitted during class

The dance room is a sacred place where dancers are encouraged to focus and learn. We want to put forth our best efforts to encourage a great experience for all students. Parents are asked to refrain from communicating with your dancer during class. If they need to speak to you, they may ask permission from the instructor and may be excused.

All dancers are asked to adhere to all rules and treat each other with respect during class. Students should understand that learning is a privilege and a responsibility. Students owe respect to their studio, their teachers, their fellow students and their art form. Corrections should be received with a positive attitude and appreciation. Class should end with respect and thanks.

Students are asked to treat their fellow dancers with respect. Any form of unkindness (whether verbally or physically) will not be tolerated.
Students are asked to keep hands and feet to themselves. We are moving around and do occasionally require partnering. In the event there is an accident or injury it will be logged and parents will be notified of the incident. We want to do our very best to create a safe environment for everyone so we can focus on learning and enjoying class.

Liability Waiver

I HEREBY ASSUME ALL OF THE RISKS OF MYSELF AND/OR MY CHILD PARTICIPATING IN ANY STEPPIN' OUT PERFORMING ARTS ACTIVITY OR EVENT, including by way of example and not limitation, any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained, or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault.

I certify that my child or self is physically fit, and has sufficiently prepared or trained for participation in the activity or event, and has not been advised to not participate by a qualified medical professional. I certify that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude my/their participation in this activity or event.

I acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form will be used by any of the Steppin' Out Performing Arts event holders, sponsors, and organizers of the activity or event in which I may participate, and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at said activity or event.

In consideration of my application and permitting me to participate in this event, I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows:

I HEREBY WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE Steppin' Out Performing Arts GA, LLC here and all divisions thereof of any and all liability and responsibility for injuries, sickness, pandemics, accidents, natural disasters and/or acts of God incurred during participation in and/or instruction of camps, intensives, private instruction, choreography or any activity in which I may participate.

I WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE Steppin' Out Performing Arts GA, LLC from any and all liability, including but not limited to, liability arising from the negligence or fault of the entities or persons released, for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me including my traveling to and from this event, THE FOLLOWING ENTITIES OR PERSONS: Steppin' Out Performing Arts GA, LLC and/or their directors, officers, managers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, the activity or event holders, activity or event sponsors, activity or event volunteers;

I INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS, AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE the entities or persons mentioned in this waiver, release and registration form from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in this activity or event, whether caused by the negligence of release or otherwise.

This accident waiver and release of liability shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law.

Photo Release Waiver

I hereby agree and consent to the following:

Release to use my and/or my child’s image or likeness in any photograph, video, or any other kind of digital media taken during classes or events at Steppin’ Out Performing Arts GA in any kind of publication. This is including but not limited to print and web based publications.
To allow Steppin’ Out Performing Arts GA and their management to copy, enhance, crop, or otherwise alter any photographs to use in their publications. I also waive any right to inspect or approve any photographs.
I understand and agree that all photographs taken belong to Steppin’ Out Performing Arts GA and will not be returned to me
I acknowledge that I am not entitled to any form of compensation or commission with respect to the use of the photographs.
I agree to release Steppin’ Out Performing Arts GA, and it’s affiliates (including, but not limited to employees, representatives, agents, and partners), in their individual and/or corporate capacities from any kind of claims, liabilities, obligations, disputes, promises, agreements, or causes of action of any kind, known or unknown, which I, and anyone on behalf of me, may have or claim to have against Steppin’ Out Performing Arts GA in connection with this release.

I confirm that I have thoroughly read and understand all of the provisions contained in this Photo Release Form and am freely and voluntarily agreeing to them.
