Release of Liability:
I hereby release, discharge, covenant not to sue, and agree to indemnify and save and hold harmless each of JBP entertainment/Spirit Square Center for the Arts/ Blumenthal Performing arts center from all liability claims, demands, losses, or damages on the student's account caused or alleged to be caused, in whole or in part by the negligence of JBP entertainment, Spirit Square, and Blumenthal Performing Arts Center or otherwise, including negligent rescue operations. I further agree that if, despite this release, I, the student or anyone on the student's behalf makes a claim against any of the releasees named above, I will indemnify, save, and hold harmless JBP Entertainment, Spirit Square, and Blumenthal Performing Arts Center from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss liability, damage, or any cost that may occur as the result of any such claim.
1. Studio Policies:
Please review and agree to our studio policies: Tuition-Tuition is due on the 1st of each month and late by the 6th. No tuition will be refunded for any reason. Full tuition for each month is due regardless of how many weeks are in the month this includes December and May. Late fees will be applied on the 6th. No exceptions. Parking lot- DO NOT EVER LET YOUR CHILD PLAY IN THE PARKING LOT. We often see parents chatting in the lobby after class while their child walks out the door without them. We also see parents chatting outside the studio while their child plays between cars or in the neighboring business parking. This is absolutely against studio policy. Children are not to be left outside without supervision or leave the building without an adult.
3. Where to park- There is no free parking at Spirit Square. If you are dropping off and picking up your student, please keep the driveway clear at all times. There are several paid lots within a 2 block radius in addition to the lot at Spirit Square.
4. Send your student(s) to the studio prepared for class- Have the student(s) dressed in the necessary equipment. A Last minute trip to the restroom is necessary and appreciated.
5. The lobby- Families are always welcome in our waiting area outside of Studio B and Studio C. Please keep in mind that lobby space is limited. If you utilize the lobby, please throw trash away before leaving. Please replace chairs if you move them.
6. Before and after class- Most classes start as a class ends. Please gather your child and be prepared to leave the building after class is over. Please be courteous to the class that comes after your class is over.
7. Communication- The preferred method of communication is through emailing our Director Jena@JBPEntertainment.org or calling the studio 980-333-2933. Phone messages may not be returned the same day. Teachers cannot accept calls during class time. No parent or student should email, text, or call JBP staff. All communication is to go through Jena.
Dance wear: All students must wear proper dance clothes and shoes in order to participate in class. Each class has individual requirements for dance attire. The requirements can be found listed on the JBP Entertainment website. Proper cover ups should be worn to and from class. No dance shoes should be worn outside of the studio. Tap shoes are not allowed in any other area of Spirit Square.
Class Preparation: Students should come dressed and ready for class. Please encourage a final trip to the restroom before entering the classroom. Teachers will of course escort students during class if needed; however, it is disruptive and should be avoided if at all possible.
Lobby Rules: Proper behavior is expected at all times by students, siblings, parents, etc. No running, horseplay, acrobatics, loud voices, etc. Students should sit quietly in the hallway prior to class using their "inside voices". Respect should be given to all classes in session. There are other companies sharing the studios at Spirit Square. Students and Parents are representatives of JBP Entertainment. We expect excellent manners at all times.
Food and Drink: Please be courteous when bringing food and beverages inside Spirit Square. We realize snacks and some meals are necessary at times, however, all trash should be disposed of properly. Re-sealable water bottles are permitted and encouraged.
Opening Class Doors: Please Respect our instructors. All classes are closed sessions. Do not open the door during class. Please wait patiently in the hall. The instructor will open the doors once class is over.
Observation: There will be a parent/student party at the end of the first semester where all students will perform in a casual setting to celebrate their progress. Additional dates may be scheduled by JBP Entertainment. Outside of these dates, Please do not expect to be in the classroom. It is distracting to the student and the instructor.
Parent Student/Teacher/Relations: Instructors may be contacted via email. (Jena@JBPEntertainment.org) Please do not try and communicate with instructors in between classes. There is no break between scheduled classes. Our instructors would like to give your questions/concerns the proper attention. Email will be checked each evening and will be responded to within the next business day.
Phone Calls: A Message for any instructor may be left on the studio office answering service. (980) 333-2933 to inform instructors if a student will be absent.
Illness: Parents are advised to keep their students at home for the following conditions: Any viral or bacterial infections, (i.e. severe cough with mucus, difficulty in breathing, fever, infected skin or eyes, undiagnosed rash, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting, suspected lice, and anything else that may be passed easily to students or instructors.)
Please communicate with JBP Entertainment to inform us of any special needs your child may have or of any reoccurring health issues. We consider your children to be part of our family and want to provide special attention when needed.
Inclement weather: JBP Entertainment follows the CMS Public School System in canceling classes. You may call the studio office at (980) 333-2933 and a recorded message will be available on the day in question. Classes canceled due to inclement weather or natural disasters WILL NOT be made up.
Insurance: JBP Entertainment/Spirit Square Center for the Arts does not provide insurance. Proof of personal insurance must be provided at the time of registration. JBP Entertainment/Spirit Square Center for the Arts/Blumenthal Performing Arts Center will not be held responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses, that may occur while in participation in the JBP Entertainment Dance or Acrobatics program. A student's personal policy will be the only form of reimbursement.
Costume Information: Costume fees of $80 per subject per student must be paid by November 15, 2017. (Note: In most cases, there is one costume per subject, for students taking more than one. Some students involved in the opening production number or finale may have an additional costume.) The average cost of a costume is $80 plus the cost of tights and any required accessories.
Please be aware that all costumes will be ordered by November 30 in order to receive them in time for our holiday/spring show. Once the orders are confirmed in November, costume companies will not accept cancellations for any reason. Once they are ordered and confirmed, the student is responsible for the entire payment of all of their costumes. Costume fees are non-refundable! No Exceptions!
All costume fees should be made payable to JBP Entertainment.
Any student having costume or recital payments not paid by the due date will be charged 15% of the balance due, per month, until the account is paid. Costumes will not be distributed until all account balances including tuition and fees are current.
Students will be measured for costumes during class time. The costume is chosen by the instructor and is subject to final approval by Jena Burgin-Peters.
Once costumes arrive, they will be distributed during class, provided all accounts are current. They are then the responsibility of the student. They cannot be replaced if damaged or soiled.
Some costumes will need alterations. This is the student's responsibility.
Recital Information: A $55 recital fee per student is due on January 5, 2018. This fee helps to cover the theatre rental, lighting, sound, equipment, and many other things that help produce the show. This fee only covers a portion of the production costs. Students will be asked to participate in two fundraisers throughout the dance year to help cover the expenses. Recital fees are non-refundable. No Exceptions!
On the evening of the show, the doors to the theatre will open one hour prior to the start of the show. There will be no one allowed in the theatre prior to this time. All parents and guests must enter the theatre through the lobby entrance. No one will be allowed to enter from backstage. Parking expenses for rehearsals or the performance is the responsibility of the student. There will be no reimbursements or validations.
Handicap seating for the show: Anyone needing special seating arrangements for the show must specify when purchasing tickets. People with special needs will be allowed 2 people to accompany them into the theatre prior to the doors opening. We will not be able to allow the remainder of the family to enter until the doors open for the show. Handicap seating is located in the back of the theatre. (Please note that it is against fire regulations to seat handicap persons in the aisle or down front.
Photography: We do not have typical in costume class photography at JBP. We do have a professional photographer on site for our dress rehearsal. The photographer takes candids as well as onstage photos. They are available for purchase through the photographer's website. Photography and videotaping will not be permitted during the recital. A professional videographer will be taping the show. Orders will be taken during the month prior to the recital and during the dress rehearsal. The price of the DVD will be announced closer to the recital time.
During Dress Rehearsal parents will receive instructions on exactly how the show will run. This is a MANDATORY rehearsal. Students that do not attend will not be allowed to participate in the recital. Please make your plans accordingly. Students are expected to be in full costumes. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Students will be allowed to watch the dress rehearsal from the audience. All students will remain backstage during the recital until its completion. Please respect this policy as it is put in place for the safety and enjoyment of all.
Food and Beverages are not permitted in the facility outside of the designated areas (green room).
To appear as professional as possible, the wearing of extra hair pieces, jewelry, fingernail or toenail polish is not permitted during the recital. All students will be given a specific hairstyle for the recital. This will be decided by Jena Burgin-Peters and will be announced closer to the recital time.
During Dress rehearsal parents are responsible for students. JBP Entertainment will be happy to help organize volunteers for parent supervision, however our staff will be extremely busy with the final details of the performance. If a parent is unable to accompany the student during the dress rehearsal, it is up to the parent to arrange other appropriate supervision. JBP Entertainment recommends that each class has several parents that volunteer to be in charge of the students within their group. Safety is our number one concern and it requires a group effort.
On the recital day, NO ONE will be permitted to enter the theatre through the backstage entrance. Everyone will have to exit through security and walk around to the front of the building and enter through Founder's Hall. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please plan accordingly.
Recital T-Shirts: JBP Entertainment requires that each student purchase the annual JBP recital t-shirt. This shirt is to be worn for all rehearsals including the Non-Dress rehearsal onstage. All Participating students will have their names listed on the back of the T-Shirt. The design of the T-Shirts will vary year to year. The average cost of the T-Shirt is $25-27. This fee will be due by March 15, 2018.
